Weddings for Less are fully committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office and are compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018. Weddings for Less is owned and operated by Guides for Brides Ltd.

Our appointed Data Protection Officer is Alison Hargreaves.

This policy, together with our terms of use and any other documents referred to on it, sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. We keep certain basic information when you visit our website and recognise the importance of keeping that information secure and letting you know what we will do with it as your privacy is very important to us.

This policy only applies to this website. If you leave our site via a link or otherwise, you will be subject to the policy of that website provider.

How we handle data from our consumers

“Consumers” are classed as any user of our website who are not business entities.

Information we may collect, store and process about you:

We collect data using online forms with clear “opt in” options. Users are required to actively select to opt in by ticking the box; we do not assume consent and no such boxes are pre-ticked.

We contact users only for legitimate reasons and only when we believe we are offering something of value to that user. Users can unsubscribe at any time.

If you leave an online review your email address will be stored for verification purposes only.

All data regarding your gender, geographical location, wedding date, wedding size, suppliers booked, prices paid are fully anonymised and used for statistics and to inform other users on trends.

If you have opted in for emails from us we store your email address to keep you updated in accordance to your wishes which can be changed at any time.

In using our online contact forms you are agreeing to being contacted by the third party you are contacting and Weddings for Less in relation to your wedding. Your information will not be stored or used for any other purpose.

How data is stored

Private data is securely stored on a password protected database on a secure server with limited access. Only authorised people can access that data and each user is tracked.

How data is deleted

If you ask for personal data to be removed from our database it will be permanently deleted with immediate effect and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

Requests to see data

If you ask to see the record of personal data held on our database your request will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

How we handle business data

We consider any individual entity trading as a wedding supplier to be classed as a business for the purpose of this website.

We store and display business data that is in the public domain and/or that we believe to be correct.

Business data that has been deleted is not visible to the public but remains on our secure database for up to 10 years, but only while there is a specific business purpose for doing so.

Credit Cards

If you ask us to store credit card details for staged payments they will be kept in a locked safe in our secure offices. We do not store credit card details online.

IP addresses and cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and to report aggregate information to our advertisers. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual and we will not collect personal information in this way.

We may obtain information about your general internet usage by using a cookie file which is stored on the hard drive of your computer. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They help us to improve our site and to deliver a better and more personalised service. They enable us:
